PORTFOLIO //

/One For The Road/

One For The Road are a Manchester-based covers band that wanted to increase their public exposure.

They had the usual and conventional band advertisement through a facebook page but found that it did not quite create the professional feel that they were looking for. They also wanted to sign up for online agencies that really want to see more than just a facebook page. So they came to me...

I was able to create them a website which does the following that they requested:

  • Showcase their music videos

  • Bio about the band and members

  • Receive inquiries

  • Tell people about upcoming events

  • Increase "likes" on facebook

Since creating the website, the band have successfully signed up with several online agents, increased their likes on facebook as well as their bookings for new venues!

This was the usual situation with a local committee of more mature members who wanted a fresher look but did not know where to start.

Their original website outdated to say the least. It took me back to the 90's where website were created in 'notepad' and then uploaded to explorer. It was basic code, dull colours, little to no graphics and lacked style.

It was definitely a challenge for me as I needed to create a site that pleas a panel of people and was not able to just work with one individual.

I was able to create a website which does the following that they requested:

  • Inform visitors of important times and dates.

  • Increase their social media traffic

  • Receive inquiries about people wanting to host a stall at their festival

  • Advertise the events of the day

Ben approached me as he was looking to increase his professional output as a musician!

The first process in the stage was an initial consultation to discuss what his needs and desires are so that we can put together a plan of moving things forward in order to obtain those goals.

Ben's was actually relatively simple . He wanted to have an online CV for potential recruiters, whether that is as a stand in musician or as a session musician etc but wanted something other than his personal facebook profile. This was key as you DON'T want to mix your personal facebook with a business page!

From here, I got building. Working with ben to add in the various elements that he wanted to see but whilst also having the modern and more importantly, timeless, style so that it did not need to be constantly changes in style.

I was able to create a website which does the following:

  • Show off his previous experience

  • Provide video content of him playing in both a studio and live situation

  • Allow a download of his work CV for agents and head hunters

  • Take direct enquiries about his services

  • Display the various services that he has to offer.
